| The Club was founded in
1883 making it one of Britain's oldest football clubs. Thetford Town moved to its present site for the 1905-06 season.
Up to the First World War Thetford played in the Norwich and District League and because at the time the club was both in Norfolk and Suffolk it was able to enter both County Cup competitions and in 1911 they won the Suffolk Junior Cup.
After the First World War Thetford played in both Norfolk and Suffolk Premier Leagues and won the Norfolk Senior Cup in 1948 and the Norfolk and Suffolk League Championship in 1954/55 season. Then the boundaries were altered and Thetford became part of the county of Nofolk.
In the 1981/82 season Town came runner's up in the Norfolk Senior Cup.
In 1989/90 Town came runners-up in the newly formed Jewson League.
Town have the won the Norfolk Senior Cup on two ocassions in 1947/48 and 1990/91 seasons.
