Saturday 3rd May FC Clacton Away att 139 score 1-4
Town visited sunny Clacton for their last fixture of the season and where put under early pressure with 16yr old debutant goalkeeper Luke Wheeler being called into early action which earned him a booking for handball outside the area. Town counted but Clacton had the ball in the net three times in the first 20 minutes each time being ruled out by the ref. Town had a Holt effort saved and Senior had a run which was cleared but it was Clacton who took the lead on 36 minutes when town gave away a free kick on the edge of the box and Springett’s shot went through the wall and past Wheeler. Then just before half time Clacton increased their lead when Lyness was fouled in the area and Springett scored from the spot.
Town went further behind within 2 minutes of the second half. Town did apply some pressure and good work by Pask found Senior who crossed for Holt to score from close range. Town looked for a second and a good run by Mann saw a Smith effort wide of target, but Clacton then added a fourth to seal the points. Wheeler then made a fine save to keep the score at four before town were reduced to 10 men just before the end when Armes received a second yellow card from an official that seemed to find it easier to book then to have a word.

Saturday 26th April Long Melford Home att 60 score 2-2
Long Melford were town’s last visitors of the season and an even start saw an early Bellingham chance followed by a good save by Terry. On 13 minutes a town free kick was just put wide by Pask. The game went from end to end but town had the better chances but it was Melford who took the lead on 43minutes when a long range effort by Taylor gave Terry no chance. Melford had another effort just before the break but was well saved by Terry.
The second half started evenly but town started to put more pressure on the Melford defence and on 60 minutes good work by Holt saw his pass to Mann turned past the Melford keeper, Melford replied with an effort just wide, when on 75 minutes Pask had a great chance to score but the shot was cleared. Melford had a chance on 81 minutes but was well saved by Terry. The impressive Mann then had a shot saved before Melford took the lead on 85 minutes when Terry and Hargrove got in a muddle and Chisholm scored. Town continued to battle and got a deserved equaliser on 90 minutes when a Bellingham free kick was helped in by the Melford keeper.
Friday 18th April Cornard United Away att 102 score 2-1
Town travelled to Cornard last Friday night and got off to a good start with Bellingham going close in the opening minutes. Cornard then had a chance which was saved by Hulyer. On 9 minutes Large was put through but his shot was saved. Town took the lead on 12 minutes when good work from Holt found Sim whose flick to Armes saw the player run on and score. Town had most of the play but Cornard looked dangerous on set pieces and did score but was ruled out for offside. Armes went close with a couple of headers and on 35 minutes Bellingham had a shot saved. Town increased their lead just before halftime when a corner found Armes who shot into the roof of the net.
The second half started with a couple of chances for Town to secure the points and on 50minutes a good effort from Holt was just over. However Cornard were given a lifeline when the ball was not cleared and ended up in the back of the net. This gave Cornard the incentive to have a go and town had to whether some pressure which resulted in some unnecessary free kicks. Town did create some chances with a Large effort straight at the keeper. Town saw out the remaining minutes to secure their first double of the season.
Saturday 12th April Tiptree United Home att 70 score 0-4
Town entertained promoted Tiptree United who need three points to win the Championship and it was the visitors who got off to a good start scoring after only 2 minutes when from a corner they had a simple tap in. Town responded with a corner which was cleared and then a Sim effort just wide on 8 minutes. Town went further behind on 16 minutes when a cross was not cleared. Brown had an effort for town before Tiptree scored their third on 28 minutes. Town rallied and a Wood effort was just wide on 31minutes.Town had a corner just before the break but was cleared.
The second half saw an early effort by Mann saved but then Tiptree brought a good save out of Hulyer. Town battled and a chance for Jones went over the bar on 61 minutes and shortly after good work from Pask found Wood whose header just went wide. But it was Tiptree who showed why they are champions with a header in the final minute to seal a good win and the championship.
Saturday 15th March Debenham LC Home att 52 score 1-3
Town entertained Debenham LC and with new manager Mick Money in the dugout, town took the game to Debenham and two early chances for Wood should have given town the lead. Town playing some nice football kept Debenham on their toes. Mann had an effort just wide before town took a deserved lead on 23 minutes a cross from Skipp was chipped back by Bellingham for Armes to head home. Debenham came into the match and saw an effort come back off the post on 34 minutes. Debenham equalised on 40 minutes when a free kick was not cleared and Platt forced the ball home.
The game was lost for town in the opening 10 minutes when a cross was not cleared on 47 minutes for Howling to net and 3 minutes later Kemp was allowed to turn on the ball and fire home from 25 yards. Town battled on but could not find the momentum of the first half and except for a Wood effort just before the end they did not trouble the Debenham defence.

Tuesday 11th March Gorleston Home att 50 score 1-1
In windy and wet conditions town facing a strong wind needed a Hulyer save on 12 minutes to deny Gorleston a lead. Wood had an effort saved and it was looking good for 0-0 at half time but with 5 minutes to go Gorleston took the lead with a long range effort. Town came out for the second half and dominated play and on 57 minutes a good build up saw Pask equalise. Gorleston had an effort saved but it was all town and they should have wrapped up the points in the closing minutes when a good effort from wood rebounded off the cross bar.

Saturday 8th March Fakenham Town Away att 55 score 3-2
Town travelled to Fakenham looking to revenge last week’s defeat. Town with a strong wind on their backs took advantage on 8 minutes when a cross from Pask found Cole whose first time effort wrong footed the Fakenham keeper to give town the lead. Fakenham responded with an effort just going wide. The wind was not making it easy for either side so the game went form end to end with no real finish. Town increased their lead on 26 minutes when a Skipp free kick was curled into the top left hand corner. Pask then had an effort saved after a good run. Pask then had a goal ruled out for offside before Cole had a good effort saved by the keeper just before half time.
The second half saw Fakenham spring an early attack which brought a good save from Hulyer. Wood then produced a good run which ended in a corner. Fakenham with the wind on their backs put the town defence under some pressure but it was town who increased their lead on 56 minutes when a free kick from Skipp was headed home by Wood. Hulyer was called into action soon after tipping over a Fakenham effort. Then Cole had a good run but was cleared. Fakenham pulled a goal back on 67 minutes when a shot was not held by Hulyer and was slide in. Town pressed the panic button with Fakenham on the up and a long range effort on 67 minutes gave Hulyer no chance to give Fakenham a chance to share the points. But a very nervy finish by town saw them hold on and collect three very valuable points.
Saturday 1st March Fakenham Town Home att 32 score 1-3
Town entertained bottom club Fakenham Town and with a strong wind behind them town applied early pressure with a Richards free kick just going wide after only 5 minutes. It was all town but they could not convert the chances. On 25 minutes both Mann and Wood had chances to score and two minutes later an effort from Cole was cleared off the line. Town did take the lead on 37 minutes when Richards was fouled in the area and Cusack converted the penalty. Parish then had a chance just before half time.
Town now facing the wind were pegged back and on 55 minutes Fakenham equalised. Parish then made the keeper save on 65 minutes, but Fakenham took the lead on 75 minutes when a free kick was not cleared. Town heads dropped and with 5 minutes to go a ball down the left was converted at the near post to give Fakenham the points in a game spoilt by the wind but Fakenham took better advantage of the conditions.
Parish had an effort near the end to end a very disappointing result and display.

Saturday 23rd February Ely City Away att 112 score 0-2
Town travelled to Ely City who look almost certainties to be promoted. Against a strong side it was Ely who had the first chance on 6 minutes with the ball just going wide. Town replied and good work from Bloomfield gave a chance to Mann. The ball was going from end to end with town playing the better football compared to the more direct route from the home side. Ely took the lead on 13 minutes when the ball was not cleared on the right and the resulting cross ended up in the net. On 23 minutes another Bloomfield cross was not seized on by the town forwards.
The second half saw Ely with an early chance coming back off the bar. The game saw Ely with further shots on goal but not troubling new keeper Bolderstone. With 20 minutes to go a Chance for Mann was saved. And 5 minutes later good work from substitute Parish saw his cross go agonisingly across the face of the goal. That chance was to be rued as a minute later with town pushing forward a long ball court out the defence to give Ely their second goal and the points. Sim had an effort just before the end in a game well officiated by Rob Ellis.
Saturday 16th February Diss Town Home att 101 score 2-6
In bright sunshine town entertained promotion hopefuls Diss Town and got off to a good start with an early Woods run and cross which was cleared. The game went from end to end in the early exchanges with both keepers in action. A move involving Mann and Pask ended in a corner but was cleared. Diss took the lead on 20 minutes when a suspicion of offside saw the player round Terry and score. Diss increased their lead 10 minutes later when the ball was headed home. Town pulled a goal back on 35 minutes when Wood was tripped in the area and Pask stepped up to convert. Skipp then had a good effort just before the break.
The second half saw Diss increase their lead within a minute. Then on 52 minutes good town play saw an excellent save from a Mann effort. Town had chances through Wood and Pask but town conceded a further two goals in an eight minute spell to seal the points for Diss. Skipp pulled a goal back on 75 minutes but Diss completed the scoring on 80 minutes. Town then created some chances towards the end of the game but it was a very disappointing result on the day. Final score 2-6.
Saturday 9th February March Town United Away att 70 score 2-1
Town travelled to March Town United and returned with all three points in a game that was played in very bright sunshine on a very bumpy pitch Town started well with Wood having a early chance. Lee Sim making his debut for town sent a great pass to Pask whose cross to Wood was hit over from close range. March took the lead on 10 minutes when an error from Richards allowed the forward a chance to chip over the advancing Terry. On 15 minutes a Terry save was cleared to Sim whose pass found Wood who travelled down the right for his cross to be found by the head of Pask who made know mistake. Town were in control with Sim and Catchpole controlling the midfield. Sim set up Pask on 35 minutes but his shot was well saved by the keeper. Town reduced March to very few chances and just before half time a Catchpole effort was just wide.
Town continued to pressure early in the second half, but a March effort on 51 minutes rebounded off the bar and to safety. Town replied with the introduction of Cole and on 58 minutes his cross-field pass was dummied by Sim to Cusack who ran on to power a shot in the bottom left hand corner of the net from 30 yards. Town should have secured the points with a third on 75 minutes with once again Catchpole just hitting wide. Town then had a chance cleared off the line only to see the ball travel to the other end and town clearing off their own line. Simon Mann had a good effort in the closing minutes and despite some late March pressure town gained all three points in a thoroughly deserved win.
Wednesday 6th February Needham Market Away LeagueCup score 2-5 att80
Town twice took the lead through Wood and Pask to give town a 2-1 half time lead. However Needham equalised soon after bthe break and scored a further three goals to see them into the semi- finals. But a good town effort against a very good side.
Saturday 2nd February Godmanchester Rovers Home att 35 score 2-2
Town dropped two home points in a game they dominated for long periods but poor finishing and predictable play saw Godmanchester steal a point. Town started well with good play coming from the left through Cusack and Mann, but the final ball eluded the front players. Godmanchester took the lead on 9 minutes when a corner was not cleared and a player standing unmarked 10 yards out hit the ball home. Catchpole had a great chance on 17 minutes but elected to pass rather than shoot and the chance was lost. Town equalised on 40 minutes when a cross from Cusack found Armes and his lopping header deceived the keeper to bring them level. The hard working Pask had a good chance soon after but hit it tamely into the keepers arms.
Town got the perfect start to the second half when good work from Mann found Wood who turned and hit pass the keeper within 2 minutes of the start. This should have given town the chance to go on and claim all three points, but Godmanchester coped with the town’s long ball approach and it needed a save from Hulyer to keep them from equalising. Catchpole and two good efforts, one with him hitting the bar,. Before Godmanchester equalised on 77 minutes a long ball over the town defence saw the player run on and score pass Hulyer. Godmanchester finished strong but the best chance fell to Wood in the last minute, which was well saved by the Godmanchester keeper.
Saturday 5th January Great Yarmouth Town Away att 56 score 5-0
Town travelled to Great Yarmouth and came home with three valuable points. On a crisp afternoon town got off to a great start when on 7 minutes a ball from Brooks found Pask whose curling shot beat the home keeper. Within a minute Yarmouth replied but a save from Hulyer denied them a goal. The game went from end to end with a Catchpole effort on 13 minutes going wide and then Yarmouth having an effort just wide. Town started to apply pressure in the second period of the first half with another Catchpole effort just over and then a Mann save on 31minutes and then a chance set up by Pask should have seen Woods score. However the striker made up 2 minute later when n a great pass from Catchpole gave the striker the ball to round the keeper and score from the angle. Armes then had an effort just before the break.
The early exchanges in the second half with Woods having a good chance and on 50 minutes Mann scored his first goal for the club when a Pask pass found him and he ran on to score. Yarmouth still battled but Jones in the town defence had an outstanding game. Yarmouth had a good chance to score on 75 minutes but the ball would not go in a minute later town scored a fourth when good work from Bellingham found Armes who scored past the keeper. It was all town with Mann having a shot well saved and in the closing minutes Armes got his second goal to give town the perfect start to the New Year.
Saturday 29th December Hadleigh United Home att 62 score 1-2
Having gained a good point at Gorleston and with no Christmas fixture, Town entertained Hadleigh United and it was Hadleigh who took an early lead on 4 minutes when a cross from the left was not cut out and the Hadleigh forward had all the time to score past Hulyer. Town responded well and a Pask effort was saved by the Hadleigh keeper, then soon after a good run by Mann was cleared by the Hadleigh defence. The Hadleigh defence was the busier of the two sides and a good run from Wood should have seen someone in the middle to finish. Pask then had two efforts saved in a matter of minutes and it was no surprise when town equalised on 37 minutes a corner from Cusack was turned back by Pask and Catchpole running in made no mistake. Town then had two good chances just before the break.
The second half should have seen Town take an early lead when a pass from Pask found Wood whose first time shot went high wide and handsome. Hadleigh had breaks but it was town creating the better chances and on 57 minutes the keeper lost the ball to Pask but his effort from the angle just went wide. Hulyer in the town goal brought off two good saves to deny Hadleigh, but once again good work from Bloomfield saw Woods blast wide. Town paid the penalty for the missed chances when on 80 minutes they conceded a clumsy free kick on the edge of the box and Hadleigh’s Dennett scored to give Hadleigh a generous three points.

Saturday 22nd December Gorleston Away att 82 score 1-1
Town travelled to Gorleston and on a lovely playing surface the opening exchanges where evenly shared. Town creating chances and with Gorleston counter attacking the game went from end to end. Gorleston had an effort on 15 minutes that went wide and on 24 minutes the dangerous Bloomfield had an effort over the bar. Strong runs from Armes caused Gorleston problems and in the closing minutes of the half both Pask and Wood had good chances to give town the lead.
The second half saw similar play going from end to end but once again town created a chance for Holder, which went wide on 57 minutes. Gorleston had a period of pressure, which gave the town defence a chance to shine. On 75 minutes an Armes effort was saved and 5 minutes later Gorleston took the lead when they found away through the town defence to score past Hulyer. Town continued to battle and gained a deserved point when deep into injury time a corner found Brooks who headed across goal for Pask to score a deserved equaliser. A good competitive game from both sets of players saw the final result 1-1.
Saturday 15th December Downham Town Home att 60 score 2-1
Town gained their first win in eight league games when new signing Andrew Wood's double saw Town beat Downham Town 2-1. The game started evenly with chances at both ends. Town's best came after 7minutes when Wood on his own had a chance to score but the keeper saved. Town started to apply more pressure and new signing Mann saw his effort come off the bar after 30minutes. Downham replied soon after by hitting the post from close range. The Downham keeper was the busier of the two keepers and he saved well from Mann just before the half time whistle.
Town came out for the second half looking to continue to pressurise the Downham defence, but it was Downham who took the lead on 50 minutes with a long-range effort, which gave Hulyer no chance. Town where stunned and could not get any rhythm to there play. Town introduced Holder and on 75 minutes they got the deserved equaliser when good work from Bloomfield found Holder whose cross was met by Wood whose first shot was saved but followed up to score. Town continued to push forward and 3 minutes later a good run from Armes and cross-found Wood to score past the keeper. Downham pressed for an equaliser and a clearance header from Skipp and save from Hulyer ensured town secured all three points. A special word for the officials, who managed the game very well.

Tuesday 20th November Needham Market HomeEast Anglian Cup Att 90 score 0-4
Town entertained the current Premier League leaders on a slippery pitch Hulyer in the town goal was called into early action. Town went behind on 10 minutes when the ball was not cleared and was headed home. Town came back and on 13 minutes a Pask effort came back to Zdrenka whose effort hit the crossbar. Needham showing their premier status where quiker on and off the ball and once again a save from Hulyer deny a goal. However a good move down the right saw Needham increase their lead. Town had an effort from Pask just before half time.
The second half was only a minute old when Needham wrapped up the game with a goal at the far post. Town continued to battle and Cusack had a long range effort just wide. Needham scored a fourth on full time for the win. but credit to Town for a good effort.

Saturday 17th November March Town United Home attendance 45 score 1-1
In front of a disappointing crowd Town had an early scare, when March Town created an early chance, which just went wide. Town should have gone a head when Cole through on his on took the wrong option and the ball was cleared. March continued to worry the home defence, but chances for Zdrenka and Cusack also gave March something to think about. However it was no surprise on 20 minutes when March took the lead with a good sweeping move, which ended with the ball in the back of the net. 5 minutes later Hulyer saved well to deny them a second. Town still looked dangerous on the break and a pass from Cusack to Armes brought a save from the March keeper. Then Cusack went close with a long-range effort.
The second half saw play at either end, but on 53 minutes town equalised when a Cusack corner was turned back by Brooks for Jones to head onto Pask who made no
mistake from close range. March had an effort soon after, but it was town that started to pressure the home defence with Armes bringing out the best of the March keeper with two efforts and the second being headed off the line. Town had a serious of corners, which came to nothing. March had their chances but the best fell to Armes in the closing minutes when out jumping the visiting keeper his header went the wrong side of the post, to give the final score 1-1.
Saturday 10th November FC Clacton Home attendance 48 score 3-3
Town entertained FC Clacton who gave Hulyer the chance to show what a great keeper he is with a save in the opening minutes. Town replied with a Pask effort and it was Town who took the lead on 8 minutes when a cross from Cusack found Cole whose shot was turned in by Pask, Clacton kept the pressure on town but Hulyer would not be passed. Town increased their lead when Pask and Cusack combined to give Armes the chance to prod the ball over the line. Clacton were unlucky when a shot came off the bar, but they did pull one back on 25 minutes when slack defending gave Clacton the chance to score, giving Hulyer no chance. On 32 minutes Clacton should have equalised but Hulyer denied them once again. Just before half time Clacton had a free kick which came of the bar and was cleared. The second half saw Clacton attack and they equalised on 53 minutes with a good shot. Town did have some play and good work from Pask and Holder gave Catchpole a chance which just went over. Clacton took the lead when given an unnecessary free kick it was squeezed in at the near post. Town could have had a penalty on 68 minutes when the keeper seemed to have impeded Holder but the ref played on. Town equalised on 75 minutes when Brooks found Pask whose cross was met at the far post by Armes who made no mistake. Both teams had chances at the end but the ref blew to give Town a point they will be pleased with. Final score 3-3

Tuesday 6th November Great Yarmouth Town KO Cup attendance 35 Score 4-3
Town were 4 goals in in 25 minutes with a Karl Pask hat trick and one from Andrew Cusack but Yarmouth came back with 2 goals before half time and pulled another back mid way through the second half but town did enough to get through to the quarter finals.
Saturday 3rd November Halstead Town away attendance 52 score 1-3
Towns four game unbeaten run came to an end at a very strong Halstead town side. Town went behind on 6 minutes when Richards failed to clear and Abraham took advantage to score past Hulyer. Town responded well and had a series of corners which were cleared. Town had a good effort on 20 minutes when Catchpole’s effort went just over the bar. Within a minute Halstead nearly increased their lead when Skipp gave away a penalty, but it was well saved by Hulyer. The game went from end to end. Town got a deserved equaliser on 26 minutes when Skipp hit an unstoppable shot from 35 yards into the top right hand corner. Both teams looked dangerous on the attack and Town had to reshuffle the defence when Brooks came off. Halstead increased their lead on 31 minutes when a corner was not cleared and ended up in the roof of the net. Just before halftime good work from Bloomfield gave Cole a chance, but lacked power.
Town started well in the second half with a Pask effort just going over. Halstead had a good chance on 57 minutes to wrap up the points but the shot went wide. Town pressed for an equaliser but a penalty on 73 minutes for Halstead when Hulyer was adjudged to have tripped up a player. Abraham stepped up to score and complete his hatrick. Town had a good chance on 85 minutes when a Pask effort was parried out by the keeper but there was no one following up. This was the last action before the ref blew for full time. Final score 1-3.
Saturday 27th october Downham Town Away attendance 82 Score 3-3
Town travelled to Downham Town and in windy conditions started well with Cusack forcing an early corner. Town took the lead on 9 minutes when a Cusack cross was met by the unmarked Brooks whose powerful header beat the keeper. Town had another chance on 12 minutes but Cusacks effort went wide. Downham forced some corners, which were cleared. The game was fairly even in the first half and an effort from Skipp on 37 minutes was well saved by the Downham keeper.
The second half saw Downham apply early pressure but town looked dangerous on the attack with a Zdrenka effort just going wide. Town increased their lead on 53 minutes when a ball from Richards found Cusack whose run and cross-found Pask who made no mistake. Downham kept on to the town defence and pulled a goal back on 60 minutes. Pask then had an effort, but Downham equalised on 80 minutes. On 85 minutes a Zdrenka header just went wide. Parish came on and within a minute his pass to Pask allowed the player to score past the keeper. With time almost up Downham were awarded a penalty, which was converted to give them a share of the points.

Saturday 13th October Tiptree United Away attendance 51 Score 2-4
Town travelled to Tiptree United which for Town was unique as it was billed as a top of the table clash. Tiptree took the lead on 4 minutes when a speculative shot found its way in. Town replied on 6 minutes when good work from Bryant and his resulting cross found Pask who headed past the keeper. Town had another chance through Zdrenka but it was Tiptree that had the pressure but town looked dangerous on the break and Hardy had a good chance saved by the keeper before Tiptree took the lead. The Referee seemed to play advantage to Tiptree but when the shot was saved he awarded a penalty. Town kept themselves in the game but conceded a sloppy goal on half time. The second half saw an early chance for Bloomfield and town pressed and reduced the arrears when a Bryant corner was headed back by Armes for Pask to hit into the roof of the net. The game went from end to end with town pressing for the equaliser but just before the end they conceded another penalty to give Tiptree all three points. Final score 2-4
Saturday 6th October Downham Town Norfolk Senior Cup Away attendance 70 Score 3-3
Town travelled to Downham Town in the Norfolk Senior Cup and were nearly caught out in the opening minutes with a Downham effort hitting the post.Town replied with a Cole effort just over.Town took the lead on 5 minutes with a good move involving Zdrenka to Cole whose cross was met by Jones to head firmly past the keeper.The game went from end to end with both teams creating chances. Town nearly increased their lead on 32 minutes when the keepers clearance rebounded off Pask but went wide of the goal.Downham equalised on 35 minutes with a header past Terry. The second half saw chances at both ends with Pask having a good chance saved on 60 minutes and the Catchpole.Downham took the lead on 76 minutes when the ball was not cleared from defence. but Town came back and equalised on 84 minutes when a Richards free kick was met by Zdrenka who turned and scored from an acute angle. The last 5 minutes saw chances for both teams to win the match. The game went into extra time and Downham took the lead again through a penalty. But town equalised when a cross from Zdrenka was met by Pask who controlled the ball to calmly put wide of the keeper. The final minutes were played out in a very entertaining game. Final score 3-3. In a very close game a second half headed from Jason cole gave town all three points to put them back on top of the league
Saturday 29th September Saffron Walden Town Home attendance 70 score 1-1
Town entertained Saffron Walden Town, Town giving a home debut to 16yr old Matt Terry in goal. Town went on the attack from the start and a good effort from Zdrenka in the 7th minute just went over the bar. Then a good move involving Bryant, Holder and then Pask with his effort just wide. Town had most of the play, but could not break down the Walden defence. Terry first action saw him make a double save before the ball was cleared. Catchpole than brought a good save out of the Walden Keeper and then Bloomfield cutting in from the right had an effort saved. Just before half time Walden took the lead against the run of play when Riches headed in from a corner. The second half saw town equalise on 53 minutes when a Cusack free kick found Zdrenka whose first time effort beat the keeper. The game then went from end to end with Bloomfield and Cole having the better chances. Walden came more into the game and just before the Finish Terry saved well on two occasion to deny Walden all three points. and the game ended on a fair result with both teams sharing the points. Saturday 22nd September Newmarket Town FA Vase Home Attendance 85 score 2-5
Town entertained Newmarket Town in the FA Vase, kindly sponsored by AI CARS(THETFORD). Town started well and a double save by the Newmarket keeper in the opening minutes denied Catchpole a goal, the opening 10 minutes looked promising for town, but Newmarket came into the game and took the lead on 13 minutes when a ball got in behind the town defence for the forward to slot home. Town had a great chance to equalise on 15 minutes when a Armes cross found Pask whose effort just went over the bar. Newmarket increased their lead on 30 minutes when a shot was not held by Brown and the loose ball was scrambled in. Town then had an effort from Catchpole just wide, before Newmarket made it three on on 36 minutes and then sealed the win on 42 minutes with a long range effort. On the stroke of half time Pask pulled a goal back for Town. Town found themselves 5-1 down early in the second half, but rallied to create chances from Bryant and Cusack. Town pulled a goal back on 75 minutes when a cross from Richards found Holder who scored past the keeper, Richards then had a header go wide. But it was Newmarket who progress to the next round.
Saturday 15th September Fakenham Town Away Attendace 50 Score 7-0
After deserved point with a 1-1 draw at Debenham in midweek, Town travelled to Fakenham who were bottom of the league and got off to a great start when Matt Zdrenka who had arrived late and literally just got on to the pitch rose to meet a Cusack free kick to put Town in front on 3 minutes. Town looked dangerous on each attack and on 16 minutes a good run down the left from Cusack and his cross found Pask at the far post who made no mistake past the keeper. Fakenham battled but it was Town that scored a third on 35 minutes when a ball from Zdrenka was flicked on by Jones for Pask to score past the keeper. Fakenham had a good chance just before the break to pull one back by beating the offside trap but the shot went wide. Town scored a fourth with only 3 minutes of the second half gone when good work from Cole then Pask found Jones who went round the keeper to score from a tight angle.
Town now in total control scored a fifth on 70 minutes when Catchpole crossed for the unmarked Pask to score his hatrick. A defensive mistake gave Pask his fourth on 75 minutes and Town completed the scoring on 90 minutes when a Cole cross found Kevin Zdrenka who rifled the ball into the roof of the net. A convincing performance from town which put them back on top of the Ridgeons league.
Tuesday 11th September Debenham LC Away Attendance 107 Score 1-1
In perfect conditions the opening 15 minutes went from end to end with no real chances. Debenham started to apply pressure and took the lead on 23 minutes when a player got in behind the town defefence and the cross was not cleared for Gedney to shoot and score. Town heads did not drop and came back at Debenham and on 40 minutes town equalised when a ball from Skipp bounced over the defenders head for Bryant to run on and score past the keeper. The second half saw Debenham have a series of early corners which came close to given them the lead but town held firm coming strong to towards the end of the match with chances from Pask and Cusack to pick up a good point.
Saturday 8th September Ely City Home Attendace 80 Score 0-1
Town entertained Ely City in a game sponsored by C&N FLOORING. Town got off to a good start in the early minutes with an early effort from Pask. But Ely showed their intentions by going close on 10 minutes then two minutes later Hulyer brought off a great save to deny Ely, this gave town a wake up call and a Pask shot on 14 minutes was well saved by the keeper. It was Ely that looked the more dangerous and on 30 minutes a corner for Town was cleared up field and an effort from an Ely forward was partially saved by Hulyer but the ball feel to another forward who scored. Hulyer was the busier of the keepers and denied Ely on a number of Occasions. Town had a chance just before half time with a header from Jones being saved. The second half saw Ely get an early chance which went wide. Town reshuffled and a cross from Ames found Cusack whose shot hit the side netting. The game went from end to end, but town could not make any in roads into the visitors defence although Jones had a chance from a Cusack cross and Pask header saved. But it was Ely who took the points,but a late effort by Hulyer coming up from goal saw his diving header saved by the keeper, nearly giving Town a point.
Friday 31st August Cornard United Home Attendance 75 Score 6-1
Thetford entertained Cornard United in a game kindly sponsored by ROAD RUNNER CAR REPAIRS on Friday evening. Town got off to a good start with Bloomfield causing problems down the right. Town took the lead on 15 minutes when a pass from Richards saw Armes hold off defensive tackles to cross for Pask to hit past the keeper. this gave town the lift to continue to pressure the Cornard goal with efforts from Catchpole and Pask going close. Cornard had the occasional attack which was well dealt with by the Town defence. Town increased their lead on 40 minutes when good work from Cole found Jones who went on to score past the keeper. Town made it three just on half time when Catchpole found Pask who made no mistake. The second half started well for Cornard who had two good chances to reduce the arrears and did so on 63 minutes when a floated free kick deceived everybody to end up in the net. This gave Town a wake up call and within 5 minutes town had increased their lead when Brooks pick up a ball on the edge of the box to fire past the keeper. Town continued on top and Jones made it Five soon after. The game was then spoilt by inconsistent refereeing which saw Jones being sent off for a comment to an opponent and on 80 minutes Town got their sixth when a Cusack free kick was headed home by Armes. Just before the end Smith and opponent where dismissed from the field, but this did not detract from a good performance from Town which saw them go top of the league.
Tuesday 28th August Diss Town Away Attendance 148 score 0-2
Diss applied early pressure but town repiled with a Pask header saved by the keeper. Town had an escpae on 10 minutes when a Diss effort came off the bar and was cleared. Town struggled to hold onto midfield with the experience of Diss playing the short passing game. On 37 minutes a mistake in the Diss defence allowed Jones through but his shot gave the home keeper no problems. Soon after a Bloomfield header was towns best effort. Just on half time a great save from Hulyer made sure the half ended all square.
The second half was only a minute old when from a Diss free kick the ball rebounded off the post only to see Skipp slice the ball into his own net. Town continued to battle but with the game going from end to end Town could not find the finishing touch. On 70 minutes from good work from Cusack both Pask and Catchpole had chances well saved by the home keeper. Diss sealed the points on 72 minutes when Angel was given to much room in the penalty area to score past Hulyer. Town should take some positives from the game but Diss's experience came through on the night
Saturday 25th August Long Melford Away Attendance 69 Score 4-0
Town rose to the dizzy heights of third in the Ridgeons League Division One after this comfortable 4-0 win at Long Melford. Town once again got off to a dream start with Pask scoring after 38 seconds. seizing on a defensive error he ran through to slot past the keeper. It was all town in the early stages with Armes going close on 6 minutes. Melford had a chance on 10 minutes when town cleared off the line and then they hit the bar, but it was Town who looked dangerous on the break and it was no surprise when town doubled their score on 20 minutes a ball from Catchpole found Pask who ran through the home defence to score. Town should have scored just on half time when a cross from Catchpole found Jones who headed wide. Town sealed the points within a minute of the restart Pask headed onto Catchpole who calmly put the ball wide of the keeper and into the net. Melford tried to put pressure on Town but Brooks and Armes at the centre of the Town defence were superb. Melford did hit the post but Town always looked more likely to score and they did with 10 minutes to go good work down the left by Cole and Jones found Pask in the middle who made no mistake for his hat trick. Town could have had a fifth just on full time but Cusack's shot went over the bar. The final whistle blew for a good afternoons work by Town.
Saturday 18th August Godmanchester Rovers Away attendance 54 Score 3-1
After the disappointment of dropping three points at home last week to Great Yarmouth, Town travelled to unbeaten Godmanchester Rovers and got off to a dream start by taking the lead within 2 minutes, a good run and cross from Bryant found Pask whose header gave the keeper no chance. The game then flowed from end to end with chances falling to both teams. Godmanchester had the better of the half and equalised just before the break with an headed goal at the far post. The second half saw Town facing a strong wind and Bryant went close in the opening minutes. There was not much to chose between the two sides, but on 58 minutes an effort from Catchpole came off the post. Town sealed the points on 67 minutes with two quick goals, the first being an own goal and then within a minute a good run by Catchpole saw the keeper only half save the shot and Zdrenka followed up to tap in from close range. The game continued with chances at both ends with the best falling to Godmanchester with an effort hitting the crossbar, but Town held firm to record their first league win of the season.
Tuesday 14th August Great Yarmouth Town Home Attendace 51 Score 0-1
In an opening 10 minute spell the score could have been 2-1 to Town with Pask going close and Hulyer producing a great save. Town made all the early running with a Cole run finding Bryant whose cross found Pask whose shot came off the post. Yarmouth rarely threatened the town goal and it was only the delivery of the final ball that prevented Town from scoring. The second half was similar to the first, until the 60th minute when a defensive mix up allowed Yarmouth only their second chance of the game which they put away. Town continued to cause problems but poor finishing denied them their first win of the season.
Saturday 11th August 2007 Hadleigh United Away Attendace 45 Score 1-1

Town opened their league campaign with a visit to Hadleigh United. Town should have taken an early lead when Armes came close on 4 minutes but the ball was cleared. Hadleigh then applied pressure resulting in a corner on 12 minutes, which was cleared. Town took the lead on 17 minutes when a Skipp cross was met by Bryant who headed past the keeper. Hadleigh then replied with an effort, which came off the bar and was cleared. It became end-to-end football with Jones coming closest for Town. Hadleigh then had a period of pressure, which resulted in the equaliser on 39 minutes. Then just before halftime they came close to taking the lead.
The second half saw Town apply more pressure and a free kick from Jones on 57 minutes shaved the bar. Hadleigh had two chances off the post, but it was town that finished the stronger with good chances for Pask and Catchpole well saved by the keeper. The referee blew the final whistle on a result that was fair to both sides.
